  • Step 1: A 5 mile walk that passes through undulating farmland to Noak Hill where it becomes more suburban as it follows a narrow green strip by streams. Waymarking is generally helpful but not perfect.

  • Step 2: The walk starts in Havering-atte-Bower at the Havering Green bus stop. However the 375 service from Romford is infrequent and does not run on Sundays.

  • Step 3: The 103 to Chase Cross runs more often but stops about 1.5 miles from the start. From the 103 stop walk on, turn left into Havering Road, along Orange Tree Road and then left into North Road.

  • Walk past the 375 bus stop and then down North Road passing the Royal Oak pub (closed).

Step 4: Walk past the 375 bus stop and then down North Road passing the Royal Oak pub (closed).

  • Just past the pub turn right to follow footpath 7 towards Noak Hill. Keep ahead on a narrow path between the back of garages and fences.

Step 5: Just past the pub turn right to follow footpath 7 towards Noak Hill. Keep ahead on a narrow path between the back of garages and fences.

  • Go through a gate into a fenced path across a field. Walk ahead with a white round house becoming visible to the right.
