  • Step 2: If you need to arrive at the start of the walk by public transport you have a few options. The nearest train station is Sea Mills. With buses 3 & 4 stopping nearby.

  • Step 3: Sea Mills was built by the Bristol Corporation in 1919 to address housing shortages after WW1. These estates are sometimes referred to as ‘homes for heroes’.

  • Cross Shirehampton Road and walk down East Parade, to the right of the playground and the Methodist Church.

  • Step 5: The Methodist Church was designed by Bristol architect Sir George Oatley. He is better known for the Wills Memorial building but he also designed St Edyth’s Church which you can see if you look behind you down St Edyth’s Road.
