  • Welcome to Section 14 of the Capital Ring! This walk starts on the Lee Navigation, close to Hackney Wick station.

    Step 1: Welcome to Section 14 of the Capital Ring! This walk starts on the Lee Navigation, close to Hackney Wick station.

  • Step 2: Exit the station on White Post Lane and follow the road around to the left to get to the canal.

  • Cross the bridge to the other side of the canal. You’ll see the London Stadium and ArcelorMittal Orbit to your right.

  • Follow the cobbled ramp down to the towpath on the other side of the bridge, so that you’re walking with the water on your right.

  • Shortly you’ll see where the River Lee Navigation and the Hertford Union Canal meet on your right. It always looks very peaceful.

  • Follow the navigation southwards under a couple of bridges and pass the lock keepers cottages (once home to the 90’s Big Breakfast show).
