  Step 1: The walk starts outside the Floral Pavilion theatre, where there are plenty of car parking spaces.

• 

  Step 2: Turn so that the Floral Pavilion is to your right as we’re heading towards the bright lights of Liverpool’s Albert Dock.

• 

  Step 3: Stop to meet the “Mermaid of Memories”, part of the Mermaid Trail which was installed and opened in summer 2017 (I’ll be back to show you!)

• 

  Step 4: Being an area of maritime heritage, you’ll be sure to spot some unusual objects with nautical links and boating reference.

• 

  Step 5: Even from the start of the walk, the lights over in Liverpool twinkle and beckon you to get closer.

• 

  Step 6: If you look closely, though, you’ll spot a curious ship wreck on the sand...
