  Step 1: From Lloyds Bank, cross the side street next to it and use the pedestrian crossing to cross Old Church Street.

• 

  Step 2: Now walk straight ahead towards the site of the old market.

• 

  Step 3: Now turn left across the car park to reach the canal towath. There is a step-free but slightly narrow access on the left.

• 

  Step 4: Now turn right along the wide towpath of the Rochdale Canal.

• 

  Step 5: Continue under Bridge 81.

• 

  Step 6: By Bridge 80a. turn right onto the diagonal (slightly bumpy) path and then turn right onto the pavement.
